• Habit Data: Habits you track, completion records, streaks, and related settings.
• Journal Entries: Daily journal entries including mood ratings, morning intentions, gratitude notes, reflections, and free-write entries.
• Calendar Data: If you connect Google Calendar, we access your calendar events to sync with your tasks.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve the Cheka app experience
• Sync your data across devices
• Generate AI-powered insights, journal organization, and coaching features
• Display personalized motivational content and productivity analytics
• Send you relevant notifications about your habits and tasks (if enabled)

3. AI Features & Data Processing

Cheka uses AI services to provide features like journal organization, task breakdown, accountability coaching, and mood insights. When you use these features, relevant portions of your data (such as journal text or task descriptions) are sent to our AI service provider for processing. This data is not stored by the AI provider beyond the duration of the request and is not used to train AI models.

4. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored in secure, encrypted databases. We use industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption for all data in transit, secure session management, and access controls. Your journal entries and personal data are only accessible to your authenticated account.

We do not sell your personal data. We may share data only in these limited circumstances:

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, all associated data (tasks, habits, journal entries, and settings) is permanently removed from our systems within 30 days.

Cheka uses a session cookie for authentication and localStorage for app preferences (theme, onboarding status, UI settings). We do not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics cookies.

9. Children's Privacy

Cheka is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us.
